Eh, my brain doesn’t really let me crush on people, the minute I think “wow that person is funny/kind/cute/etc,” my emergency “so of course they won’t want you” circuitry powers up and shorts out any attraction.

I feel the same way a lot of the time, but it's also very freeing and pleasant to sort of try to let myself lean into it as much as I can

I think the same thing when I like someone, but it backfires and the crush continues. Like, it doesn't matter how much I tell myself, "you're not the only one who's attracted to this person, so it's not like you'll end up with him anyway," I still think the person is hot.

Then again, I don't really take crushes too seriously, so...
