What is everyone doing this weekend?

After a bad work week and really bad Friday, I will be relaxing this weekend. I might try to bake something Sunday to bring to work. Morale is really down. Also going to be drinking either tonight or tomorrow.

I'll be attending my cousin's graduation on Saturday and subsequent party. On Sunday, I'll be studying and working on my fic.

Our manufacturing plant is in Nicaragua. They've been having riots because people want the current president (dictator) to leave. They have only been able to work on and off the past two weeks because of this (clashes between protestors/government, barriers being set up, strikes called for).

This has caused us to basically miss all a lot of our orders. More importantly, it is dangerous for our workers. We own this plant so we work closely with these people. Today, protestors came to the factory and threatened the workers. Told them if they did not leave work, they would make them leave work.

It is frustrating to hear these people we work so closely with, panicking because they need to leave so they don't get attacked. It is even MORE frustrating that the people in our company who don't work with the workers in Nicaragua are more worried about making quotas than what is happening to the workers.

Sorry for the rant. :/

I hope the party is awesome. :) Is it at a restaurant or someone's house? I hope the studying goes quickly and the fic writing is inspired.

That's horrible. :( I feel bad for those workers and it must be very difficult to know what they are going through and not be able to do anything about it. The people at your work who value quotas over your workers are dicks, pure and simple.

I'm seeing John Fogerty and ZZ Top on Sunday. Yeah, it's a Dad Concert but I'm looking forward to it.

I was thinking about seeing Hotel Artemis tomorrow but I'm not sure it's worth a ticket price.

Awesome! You enjoy that Dad Concert, I bet it will be fun as hell.

I've not seen it but I heard it is a solid "Okay" movie. The acting is better than the script.

I just hope I'll be able to handle being out in the heat for the whole show D:

I originally wanted to play some games but I managed to deeply clue into the tips of two fingers on my left hand and this makes playing any game on PC almost impossible to control. It also hurts quite a bit so holding a controller isn't an option either...

My mother got a gadget for sharpening knives and I foolishly thought "sure, let's try this for once instead of the whetsones or sharpening steel I usually use".
Yeah, turns out that thing is great for slipping and cutting your hand instead.

Got some laundry to do but that's it for my exciting weekend.

Mostly just gonna be chilling.

I'm going to work on chapter five of my Pokemon/Voyager fic, and see if I can't at least write up to Seven's first gym battle against Falkner. Other than that, I'm going to try to get a few loads of laundry done and see about cleaning the kitchen countertops and drawers/cabinet doors. If my mom can stay awake (she's in phlebotomy school right now and it's been super intense and exhausting for her even though she's been kicking major ass throughout the whole course) we're going to watch Black Panther together, as she hasn't been able to see it yet.

I work weekends. My days off are Wednesday-Thursday and I hate it.

That sucks! Though, it does mean you can at least do actual chores like go to the bank on your day off.

No plans tomorrow other than weight watchers and electrolosis for my stupid chin hairs. I will probably watch something. Either Game of Thrones or the Jurassic Park movies.
