Background/TMI info: I identify as bi and demisexual. I rarely experience sexual attraction to people I know/celebrities. I'm occasionally sex repulsed, and sometimes even masturbating makes me feel icky. I usually only feel like getting myself off a few times a month.

Question: Do other people who identify on the ace spectrum sometimes--seemingly out of nowhere--feel really horny all the time? Idk what happened, but over the last few weeks, I have been masturbating like every day, and it never feels like enough. Things that would otherwise mildly interest/turn me on are now getting soaking wet on a daily basis and everything is an innuendo to my brain.

It makes me feel like a weirdo or a creep or something for having sex on the brain this much when nothing like this has ever happened to me before.

I'm just wondering if other aces have these weird phases. And how long does it usually last? And info or advice or reassurance would be appreciated!

No, but it sounds like a hormonal issue to me. Ask a doctor if the change is drastic enough to concern you.

This. These crazy changes almost always mean something is going on medically. I wish places like Tumblr would start encouraging people to go to the doctor for things like this.

Yup. There's no harm in checking to make sure nothing unusual is causing the issue. Hormones do some weird things.

I was thinking it might be hormones too. I'm 25 and haven't been on birth control in 6 months, so I'm thinking my body is just re-regulating itself maybe? I also live with two other women. My sister has recently said her hormones have been acting up, so I'm wondering if our proximity has synced? Like I know women who live together have their periods sync up, so maybe that's related? Idk. It's so weird. :/

Might as well get it checked out if you have the time to. If things are significantly out of balance then it might be causing related issues other than horniness too.

Luckily I haven't felt sick or anything else. Just persistently experiencing arousal. And now I'm worried that something is legit wrong with me, which hadn't even crossed my mind before seeing people's answers here. :/

NAYRT but sometimes bodies do weird things and depending on how long you’ve been on birth control, maybe your low libido/attraction was a side effect of the bc and not how you’re gonna be without it? I’m grey ace and have never taken birth control or really any non-otc med, but bodies are weird and so are brains. It could be no big deal, but if you can ask a doctor for your peace of mind, why not?

I’ve only had that happen once for a couple days and assumed it was hormonal, I get minor variations in my libido/horniness level occasionally but nothing like you’re describing. I dunno if a doctor would do anything but if it bothers you and you have medical coverage you could ask.

Sometimes when I’m ovulating, but that’s hormones. I’m still mildly sex repulsed and have zero interest in someone else touching me. Sounds like you have something entirely different going on, though. I also go with see a doctor.

I'm looking for doctors in my area as we speak, and now I'm trying not to freak out that there's something wrong with me. My anxiety is so bad right now because of all of this. :(

For me it is also hormomes. I get a really strong desire to masturbate just before my period, at the tail end of my period (last day or day after) and when I'm ovulating. It has been like this for years.

It is definitely good to get checked out, but I saw you were very anxious and I wanted to reassure you that it could jist be your body regulating hormones being off birth control and it might not be super serious. I hope everything goes well!

Yeah. Pretty much all of high school and still get the odd stretch of time where my downstairs is possessed by a nymphomaniac. My brain stays anywhere from completely repulsed to like mildly curious to the point that I'd watch a documentary on it, but I still don't want to be doing it.

Sometimes being in close proximity to men does it too, which is hilarious because I'm guessing it's some sort of pheromone/chemical thing in my brain I'm not conscious of. Even when I'm uncomfortable or completely disgusted by someone, my body is like "I AM READY".

I don't know about advice and stuff, sorry. I try to pretend it isn't happening.
