I only vaguely know this, but I think this is Glorfindel and the Balrog? His first death. He killed the Balrog but it grabbed him by the hair and dragged him off a cliff as it fell.

Which seems to be a thing with Balrogs, really.

He needs longer hair, though. If he's going to die of long hair, it should be like - past his knees.

I like Glorfindel and the reincarnation plotline that Tolkien developed to explain him. I also really like all the long hair in Tolkien. It seems right that it should come back and bite someone.
