I don't really have an opinion about The Cursed Child as I've kind of ignored most stuff after Deathly Hallows.

I always thought Harry being an auror made sense too... it was some of the others that seemed forced.

He likes being in the action too much to be satisfied with being in a classroom

I was going to say that becoming a teacher is NOT the way to go if you are already burned out or traumatised, but Hogwarts does some to be an infinitely better, safer, less stressful place to work than any actual school.
