It would drive me nuts to have my books sorted by colour. That's all I can think when I see stuff like this.

Same here. I actually like to order my books my genre, but I know that's just me.

Me too. The one thing I'm am obsessively orderly about. Genre and then author's last name.

DA. Pretty sure it's not just you. My nonfiction is in Dewey Decimal order.

(Anonymous) 2018-06-19 01:40 am (UTC)(link)
Same. There's little order within sections, but I do things like shelve all the history, archaeology, and anthropology books together. Same with te scifi/fantasy paperbacks, the Sherlock Holmes stuff, the National Geographics... then there's the "folio section" on the tall shelf.

Alphabetically by author's last name, regardless of genre.

(Anonymous) 2018-06-19 12:12 am (UTC)(link)
Same! So many series would end up getting split up! How could you find anything?

(Anonymous) 2018-06-19 05:52 am (UTC)(link)
It would drive me crazy too. I sort mine by author.

I sort mine by shelf size. Or rather, the shelves sort them for me,.

I can barely sort my books according to genre-- I think I'm actually doing a good job when I manage to put series together. So while I think that maybe pictures like that are fake, then I go "Well maybe there are people who have their lives so much more together than I" which is entirely possible because I'm a mess
