That is apparently the answer because you can write all manner of speculative things about real people in a screenplay and everyone will be fine with it. In fact, you might end up with lots of awards. I'm not even really kidding, there have been myriad stories "based on true events" that have been enjoyed and celebrated even though they are about real people with real feelings and have a more or less complicated relationship with the truth.
