I like looking at neat/interesting/creative bookshelves, but a lot of them are just really impractical looking, like weird shapes where you can only stick three or four books in at a weird angle.
Or really really *tall*, so that you'd need a stepladder to reach them.

Down inside, I rather doubt people like that with 'quirky' bookshelves really care so much about their books.

As Gloria Upson said: "Books are *awfully* decorative, don't you think?"

My favorite impractical shelves are the ones with the books pushed all the way to the back to make space for decorations like teacups, candles, silk flowers, and Funko Pops. They look really pretty, but I think in real life, it would drive me crazy having to move a bunch of stuff to reach a book I wanted.

I'm guilty of this, lol. My books are at least all very well organized but I like to keep a few knick knacks on the shelves as well. (tbf I live in a tiny apartment without any room for extra shelves just for dust collectors) It's not as much of a pain as you might think! But then again I'm just talking about, like, the odd greeting card or cool rock or something here and there, not a ridiculous Funko collection.

YES.
I need more bookshelves - currently, a lot of my books are double-stacked, so i filled the shelf and then had to stack more in front. REALLY ANNOYING!
