I think more people tend to try and represent themselves as having a certain lifestyle on Instagram and the fact that Instagram is largely visual as opposed to the written word makes that fakery very easy.

DA, and I agree to some extent, though personally I love that it's not text based, because I got so sick of everyone's emotional rants on facebook that I just wanted pictures to like in my downtime. I moved to IG and it's actually pretty soothing and fun to participate in.
