I think this is the minimum possible amount of secret that you can have and still be a secret, and honestly I kind of respect that

A minimalistic secret about loving big, detailed canons . I respect it.

For the record, I picked the picture without realizing it was that small. I was making multiple secrets, so I was too lazy to go find another pic when I figured it out. So I just made do.

I like big franchises too, especially if they have a lot of extra content beyond the movies that you can get into like books or comics.

I get tired of the complaints about them being dumb or cheesy or predictable. That's the appeal. A franchise is not the total of all media I consume. I can get deep, thought-provoking media elsewhere. Sometimes, I want something predictable and fun.

(I am behind on Marvel though. I don't know that I can catch up at this point.)

I LOVE BIG WORLDS AND I CANNOT LIE

LITTLE IN THE PLOTLINE BUT SHE GOT MUCH WORLD

I can't agree with this, tbh. I hate the MCU specifically because it's way too big and there are far too many characters to fit in a 2-hour movie, so. Especially when I don't give a single shit about half of them.

I used to enjoy it more, but lately I'm getting tired of so many cinematic universes.

Also, if the franchise becomes too extensive it ends up stressing me out.

I think the thing that tires me out with most of them now is how...calculated they feel? Like that stupid monster universe thing where there was a whole franchise planned out before the first movie had even been completed, so it was less like more movies being made because there's more world to be explored and more like 'everyone else is doing franchises so we need one too.' The Marvel movies at least got the part right where the first movie has to make you want to see more of it.

I feel the same way about video games! That's why FFXII will always have a special place in my heart. The bestiary alone adds remarkable detail to Ivalice's lore.

I'm also particularly fond of Mass Effect and can spend hours reading all of the information on different species and planets and the history of that entire universe.
