Well, they do have a leg-up being a much older fandom with a scholarly side that produces books that need art to go with them so you get professional artists (and have done so for decades) as well as fan artists. I like the art too.

Fingolfin is badass. I wish he was as popular as Feanor because I would like all the fic about him. He's my favorite of the brothers.

And, of course, he had the most metal death.

The punctuation thing is why I quit beta-reading for people. I don't know why people have so much trouble with it. And when it happens again and again and again and again with the same author after you've corrected their comma splices and dialogue punctuation a hundred times, I have to conclude they're either just plain lazy or don't care enough to learn to do it correctly.

I'm not bitter but it would be nice to see the elves showing more of the mystical, glowy side, especially if it was paired with some kind of language explaining how the power was connected to Valinor and whatnot.

IDGI either, and honestly there's romantic tension, too, in that doomed andfucked up Star Wars kind of way.

The hatred of this ship is bizarre to me and rather singular in terms of hero/villain ships, which have always been immensely popular and have always been woobified and romanticized but I guess it's okay when it's two dudes or something.
