It's just poorly worded IMO, I thought it was clear OP was expressing an opinion.

Don't be disingenuous. It's very obviously an opinion. Opinions don't have to start with "I think" or "I believe" in order to be opinions. "Pizza is delicious" is clearly an opinion, the "I" part is implicit.

I'm pretty sure that having "I" in it was a rule. Or at least it was at one point. But I'm also under the impression the rule was relaxed when we were getting like 6 secrets a day.

It was, and IMO, it was never a very sensible rule and I'm glad it's been relaxed. Statements of opinion are fairly easy to discern without the "I" part to spell it out for people. Reasonable people don't have a problem figuring out that a sentence like "Country music is boring" is someone's opinion, and that they're not even really trying to pretend it's a fact just because they didn't specify "I think" in front of it.
