I like Emily in charge as well. It seems like a friendlier dynamic or something. She calls them all by their first names usually, which is nice, and it feels more like she's like one of those teachers that gives a general assignment and trusts you to do your own thing to a large degree.

I sorta wonder, though, if Shemar Moore had known what was going to happen, if he would have stayed around and Derek would have been promoted. (Not saying Derek deserves it more than Emily, but I wonder if the producers would have offered it to entice him to stay.)

I've wondered about that, too, yeah. It would make sense if Morgan had been promoted, given he did the whole "acting unit chief" thing when Hotch stepped down with Foyet. I would've been fine with Morgan running the team, too, were he still there.
