You are not helping people who have depression by saying this.

You are hurting them.

Yeah. The great unfairness and irrationality of it is a horrible thing. But saying it like it's anyone's fault that they were depressed enough to commit suicide is not helping. The whole point is that people need help. The people who are too depressed to even seek help are the ones that need it most.
