I'm really enjoying the wank over Detriot Become Human. I'm only watching from the sidelines, but man things have gotten down right nasty. I've seen with my own eyes someone say you're racist if you draw the roboyaoi. I get David Cage sucks, but it's probably some of the worst hate I've seen towards fans of a thing.

Eh, as someone somewhat embroiled in it, a lot of the boiling-over tensions are because the people that are staunchly defending the sketchy David Cage-y aspects of the game for the sake of their white roboyaoi are the exact same people that, in other fandoms, jumped down people's throats over being "problematic" and "only caring about white dick" and stuff. It's the sheer hypocrisy that really has people pissed off.

I've not seen a single person actually defending the guy. What I've seen is mostly people going "the game wasn't made by just this one person, get your hate boners under control" and most of the wank concerning the Hank/Connor ship is just another iteration of the "wah pedophilia" and "wah incest" wanks sprinkled with an unhealthy dose of good ol' ageism.

I want to RP with this guy for a VG I've never played; I've only ever wiki'd it and read fic for it. I feel awkward about it because I think the RP will just be smut writing and I've never...been textual with another person before...
