Code-enforcement whackos and condo-rule obsessives (and though I’ve never dealt with them, HOAs that do stuff like ban solar panels and washing lines.) Thinking of an old lady who flipped her lid because we didn’t have identical white curtains, and a dude who wanders the neighborhood with his clipboard and has code-compliance on speed-dial, specifically.

(He also ranted to another neighbor once about “kicking out that pair of homosexuals” meaning ace me and afaik straight roommate, which doesn’t count as a minor thing.). Grr, I own my fucking house, dipshit, and we’re in California. Move to the moon where there’s no one else to break the rules and no-one has gay cooties, and asphyxiate from the lack of atmosphere, asshole.

San Diego. It’s not all a blighted Republican wasteland, or as red as, say, Orange County, but there’s way more bigots than in the Bay Area. I think this dude would not be a fun neighbor to have even if he was a raging leftist, though.

At least he’s not as bad as the MAGA-moron who attacked my mom with a length of rebar years ago because he hated our dogs, or our other, nice neighbor’s deadbeat brother who, many years ago, stopped teen me in the street to ask “you like older guys, right?” when pushing 40, and much more recently, when I was dogsitting, passed by the back fence and told me “I’m gonna get me a dog. Gonna teach it to hunt n**g*rs.” ... His adopted niece and nephew are black. :-( I hope their dad knows his brother’s a creeptastically racist asswipe.

oh ugh. yeah, I live in the bay area and I'm lucky to not have to deal with that crap very often. I've never been to San Diego so I don't really have an opinion of it but I used to go to school in Orange County and there were some real creeps there.
