I'm not into SNK, but isn't Krista/Ymir canon? Like, I could've sworn their feelings were mutual and requited based on information I've read about the series.

Well Ymir->Historia/Krista is very canon, and I would certainly hope people aren't pretending that part isn't real, but Historia's actual thoughts on Ymir is purposely made kind of vague. She certainly loved Ymir, all her courage stems from wanting to fight for/alongside Ymir, but it's left open enough it could be any kind of love. Even if she was very much in love with Ymir (my personal take on it is she definitely was, and even Ymir realized it, but she herself hasn't realized it yet as of the anime timeline anyway), there's also nothing that says she can't be bisexual, or even asexual but not aromantic, and I assume that's the part OP really hates.
