I know a couple people on here live near Washington DC

What is the weather generally like around late February/Early March? Looking at plane tickets, it is way cheaper to fly then instead of later in March. If it does snow, how much does the city shut down?

Hello hello! February/Early March is generally an awesome time to go. I'd bet you get anywhere from mid-forties to mid-sixties - which is a lot better than the summer heat. It doesn't snow much at all in DC, but it can randomly snow a little during March. But if you're from an actual snowy place, you'll find DC very pleasant regardless. Plus, even that early, you might just catch cherry blossom season - usually happens sometime in March, just depends on the year.

Thank you! Last year we went from March 3-March 13 and it snowed the first day, but the rest of the time was fine. DC was my first vacation ever in 2016 and will now be my second vacation ever in 2019. Really enjoyed visiting it. Hopefully we can go to different places we were not able to last time.

Yeah, weirdly it's snowed once every March since I've been here, even though it only snows like three times all winter. Very odd, but I guess it's tradition, haha. It never really gets cold enough for the snow to stick long, though. Anyway, I think slightly cooler weather is nice when you're going around sightseeing, since you'll be walking and you'll heat up in no time. It's sightseeing during this hellish swampy summer that I would recommend to no one.

Yeah, our choices were March or November. But really not in the mood to be in DC during the political season.
