I have a lot of het ships too. I don't think there is anything to be ashamed of. I understand that canon hetero ships are a lot more common than canon m/m and f/f relationships and people are sick of it, which I think is perfectly justified. However, I mostly pick my ships based on chemistry. So, even if it's hetero, as long as it's an interesting relationship I'll ship it.

Hetero shippers only really bother me when they are those type of fanboys/fangirls who say, "THIS CHARACTER IS CANNOT POSSIBLY BE GAY" and complain about their fav male character being shipped with another male character. They say, "you guys don't understand FRIENDSHIP"... while at the same time shipping a male and female who are in a platonic friendship or a complete crack pairing. Those type of fans can choke.

The same goes in reverse... those people who are like, "THIS CHARACTER CANNOT POSSIBLY BE STRAIGHT BECAUSE MY HEADCANON IS CANON".
