Asia's gimmick during the finale, involving real, live butterflies contained inside her fake boobs. They didn't flutter away when she released them, they just sort of flopped onto the stage and sat there to be crushed by dancers.

It was actually pretty gross. Cruel, to the butterflies, even if they were just common painted ladies and not some endangered species. The trick flopped AND she killed a bunch of harmless insects for the sake of trick-drag.

I haven't seen this, but if they were kept in the dark inside the boobs, they probably went to sleep.

yeah that's what the "official" explanation is, that they were asleep but Asia was hoping her own body temperature would keep them awake. it didn't.

I don't watch the show, but I've seen the clip and the combination of second-hand embarrassment from a failed trick and seeing living creatures being used (and then squished) as props was too much for me. Poor things.
