And? That wasn't the question Anon posed. The warnings operated then as they operate now, a flag for the people that wanted it and a clue to the homophobes that they were on the wrong end of the internet. I appreciate that we don't have to do that sort of thing anymore. I wasn't arguing that it was better, just that het haters existed back then as now. Just because there were more homophobes on the rest of the internet didn't mean that things didn't get hostile inside slash-heavy fandoms when it came to het.
