My guess would be because the real people in question are straight/not openly gay or bi or whatever, so featuring two nominally non-LGBTQ celebrities fangirls ship for Pride Month is weird.

At least with fictional ships you can fanwank around the character being gay/bi/whatever, and say fans want to see representation and gay love in their fiction, but with real people... well, it's different.

Also a lot of people are ashamed or embarrassed by RPF in gneral and want to keep it solely within fandom spaces (hence so many locked journals, AO3s, tumblrs, etc for RPF content).

And then there's also the issue of these guys being gay and outing themselves would be very much career-ending. So that's another little bit of ickiness on top of the rest.
