Gavincest really rubs me the wrong way, and you hit the reason on the head: they're dull. And I know it's dumb, but it feels kind of personal because Dahlia/Iris is one of my favorite pairings and Gavincest has the same basic evil sibling/good sibling dynamic.
But Dahlia and Iris got development. Kristoph and Klavier really didn't -- Klavier had the opportunity during 4-3, but he didn't really grow or show us a new side of himself at all. Dahlia had a motive for her crimes; Iris tried to redeem herself for the weakness and indecision that had contributed to catastrophe. Kristoph seems to be evil for the hell of it -- or at least for the general power and prestige desire -- and Klavier lacks the confliction that made all the other prosecutors interesting. They're cardboard cutouts. And so every time I see Gavincest it feels like it's driving home the fact that no matter how flat or uninteresting, as long as they're pretty the boys will always get more love than the girls.
And on the kink meme it annoys me that I feel embarrassed requesting not-totally-miserable twincest when there are Gavincest prompts for fluffy angel!sex. >:/
And then it makes me wonder if I'm being similarly delusional about the depth of Dahlia's and Iris's characters because I find them attractive (well, for drawings).
