Lol It's okay, OP. You can be critical as long as you're not a dick about it. I love high school and coffee shop AUs, which tend to be pure wish fulfillment, but I still side-eye the out there stuff I've come across. I don't comment or anything, just lol and nope out of there.

Nah you can side-eye or laugh at stuff in your own time, just don't be a dick about it to the author. Lord knows I've back-clicked out of plenty of fic going 'wtf did I just read?' but I keep it to myself and carry on.

And tbh the premise of this tickles me just enough to be curious.

UGH I can't stand it when I'm looking for noncon/dubcon and keep getting fluff like this.

But yeah, self-awareness and a sense of perspective is key here, so I applaud you for that.

I was reading a weird Walter/Henry fic in Silent Hill 4 where they had set up a happy loving household (though I think they may have been dead) and it didn't even mention the fact that Walter spends the entire game trying to kill Henry. I kind of stopped looking for Walter/Henry fic after that.

God. I hate stuff like that in fanfiction. Yeah, fanfic is escapism but I can't stand blatant wish fulfillment. Especially shit like that.

Maybe it's just me (wanting a dash of realism?), but I'd kill for fic where someone attempts to soothe a menstruating character, only to have the tea hit the wall and, "DON'T FUCKING TOUCH ME," growled at them. Like. my uterus is trying to claw itself out through my vagina, and...you think going down on me and giving me an orgasm will help? LOL NO.

Basically, I'm sick of seeing periods in fic depicted as minor inconveniences that can be fully solved in 15 minutes by one (1) regular strength Advil and herbal tea.
