sdfjlk sixteen year olds think they're the core fandom for MCR? The people who were 16 when MCR came on the scene are in their 30s now. MCR is music for thirtysomethings.

and anyone of any other age who enjoys their music.

I work at a high school and lots of kids wear MCR shirts. Most of them were introduced to the band by older siblings or aunts/uncles. I like MCR too and the kids I've talked to about the band were pretty cool, just jealous that I actually got to see them live before they broke up.

Come to think of it my teenage niece is also a fan of MCR. Funny

This is exactly how it worked with my niece, who's 17. Her mom and are even took her to a concert when she was a kid, she grew up with their music and is still a fan.

16 year olds were not even born when MCR started.

Haha, right? Like who do they think bought MCR's early albums and went to concerts back then?

Teenagers tend to suffer from tunnel vision that way. When you're young, it's easy to think the universe revolves around you because you don't realize how big the universe really is.

...Or to the fortysomethings that introduced it to their 16 yr olds in the first place.

It reminds me of people insisting that adults can't watch animation, because they're too old for cartoons and comics. I always ask them who do they think creates this media--who writes these stories? Do they think there's a sweatshop full of 8 yr old prodigies chained to desks?
