Aside from the obvious ridiculousness of this teen's attitude, I don't understand people who want to restrict the amount or types of fans of a band in general. I love it when my favorite groups can gain more fans, 'cause hey, now I have even more people to talk to and rave about the band with! Plus, more fans also means more potential success for the band themselves. I fail to see the downside of any of that.

I don't get it either. I *want* my favorite bands to get more popular. Maybe they'll have a show near me if they get bigger, but they definitely won't if their fanbase stays small.
