Not at all! If you live in a remote area, property is cheap, and you can set up a destination B&B or wedding place for far less than the cost of a regular suburban house. I know a lot of farmers who also have one of these kind of places on their property for extra income, and others who take the family-oriented "farmstay" route where visitors get to milk cows etc.
