Johnson has talked about the sex symbolism in their TLJ scenes, so I'd call it intentional subtext.

Funny how Johnson seems to be such a fanboy of that ship but Adam and Daisy are so awkward and non-committal about it. It's like everyone knows that if a male and female character interact that somebody is gonna ship it but since they technically didn't have a solid romance they just have to describe it as vague as possible.

Yes, I'm sure the reason they went with visual subtlety rather than an outright love scene is because the pairing objectively sucks, not because of any other more important factors in the vision of what they were going for with that subplot.

I would say I don't have strong enough feelings about the pairing either way to find this comment anything other than funny, but you're probably that anon who would accuse me of being a secret reylo shipper clutching my cross at my chest for forgiveness and praying no one ever finds out.
