101. I know what you mean. Being stalked around a bookstore by someone talking about a series I've made very clear I wasn't into is hardly my idea of a good time. I don't want that sort of thing nonstop for a weekend. I know that not all of them are like that -- there is no generalization intended here, but one, two, three of them would be enough to freak me out enough to label it a negative experience. I'm extrememly uncomfortable with people being in my face.

Socially inept =/= someone with social anxiety. Socially inept usually refers to a lack of understanding and/or adherence to society's norms. Sometimes it comes from mental illness, sometimes from ignorance, and then there's those fun ones that do it just because it's "cool."

My beef is with the fact that people forget that there's reasons that society has rules for how you behave towards other people. They didn't just pop out of the blue one day. Not to say that these rules don't require revisions every once in a while, but in general "don't get up into a complete stranger's face just because there's assumed to be a common interest" is a really good one to follow.
