For my art degree, I had to take a life drawing class. My teacher was the hardest hardass in the world. He did not sugarcoat, he did not show pity. If you were doing it wrong, he would straight up tell you, and he wouldn't be nice about it, either. (On the other hand - and this is important - when you were doing it right, he'd tell you that too. It was rare and special to get praise from him, and because he rode everyone so hard the rest of the time, you knew you'd earned it when you got it.) It was hard as hell, and I won't deny I cried a few times over the course of the semester, but a couple of funny things happened.
One, I got a lot better. The criticism gradually sank in, and my art improved.
Two, the criticism started hurting less.
Nobody LIKES to hear criticism. It sucks to hear you did something wrong. But good concrit is a treasure. After a semester of criticism from my drawing teacher, I was getting pretty damn good - and now I'm a lot more okay with getting criticism, in everything I do. I seek harsh crit on my fics now, and when I get it I'm able to consider it rationally and decide what to do with it. This makes me a better writer.
What's more, once you're used to getting concrit, you become a lot more able to distinguish between those criticizing in good faith and those who're just being douchebags.
So maybe you could do something similar! It'll improve not just your writing, but your outlook on the creative process, and that's worth a lot.
