Yeah, Avatar takes a lot of influence from Asian culture, but that doesn't necessarily mean that all of the characters in the show "are Asian," if you know what I mean. :) They're not the only culture to have ever used a language based on character, you know? In my mind it wouldn't be too farfetched to imagine that another culture developed a character writing system, and in that culture people could be of any race or ethnicity.
(Also pausing here to say that yes, I do know that the characters on the show are Chinese. XD I, uh, had a brief and silly moment when I realized I could read a couple. *nerdnerdnerd*)
Iunno. *shrug* For sure I don't think that the entire movie should be white actors, but at the same time, I don't think either that everyone except for the Water tribes should be Asian, either. :P It's an entire world, different cultures--in my mind I'd really like to see people from all different parts of our world playing each of the different cultures of theirs, y'know?
Aaahhhhhh it is early and I only have three-quarters mind of what I am saaaaayiiiiiiiing. Hopefully that came out semi-comprehensible and not like a complete dumbass X3
