Franchises

What are your thoughts on them as a whole? What franchises are you fanish about? Anything you wish they would or wouldn't do? How are you fanish (i.e. do you buy merch, write stories, cosplay, etc)?

If I enjoy the wold they are set in, I'm all for them. MCU, Middle Earth, Whoniverse, and Star Wars are great. The DCEU movies are terrible for the most part, so that universe is mostly terrible. One good movie can't really save it.

I buy merch, I write for some fandoms, I've cosplayed for conventions before, I meta and headcanon.

Obviously, I am a huge fan of the MCU, especially Captain America. That is it for movies/television.

For video games, I am a huge fan of Bioshock. Such a perfect series. Though, I hope the next one takes place in Rapture again.

I buy merchandise. I don't write stories and such because I am not all that artistic.

There are movies and things that are part of franchises that I like, for sure. But I try not to pay attention to the franchise-level element of them - the continuity, and canonicity, and business, and those parts of the franchise.

The only ones I've been into are Digimon and Pokémon, and for those it was strictly about the animes, though I also read the manga published in English (yes, the DIgimon one too).

It's been a decade since I was passionate about either of them, but Pokémon I think is doing just fine being what it is, even though I'd love for an anime adaptataion of Pokèmon Adventures/Special.

For Digimon, I guess basically wish the later seasons had taken some clues from what Tamers did right.

They're fine. If I like them, then yay, more movies to watch! If I don't, then I'll watch something else. I'm not sure I'm "fannish" about any franchises but I enjoy(ed):

LOTR
MCU (mostly the non ensemble ones)
Star Wars (mostly the newer stuff)
