hung over and depressed, mostly

Got too much sun at the pool. But for a while, I was the only one there. An apartment complex-sized pool all to yourself is magical.

Lacking fandom drama, I spent most of it checking The Guardian's live update feed on Trump's UK visit

Mueller charged 12 Russian intelligence officers for trying to hack DNC candidates, so that is nice. Work was pretty easy today and I am thinking of going on a walk.

I’m trying to finish a costume for SDCC; I did most of the work last year but now that I plan to wear it again I see tons of stuff that needs fixing.

I just found out I'm going to have to take EVERYTHING out of my kitchen and my bathroom to accommodate the exterminators Wednesday. I live in a very small apt and don't have any room to put all this stuff other than the damn kitchen and bathroom. (Some of my neighbors are pigs and dump garbage where they are not supposed to so roaches come.)

I've had good luck with these--- https://www.riddex.com/--- for roach control; I live in an area where even with regular visits from pest control roaches are usually inevitable, but I haven't seen more than the occasional roach corpse in the 5 or so years I've had mine, and I am not exactly the world's tidiest housekeeper.

I've been using those for years. They worked until recently. :(

Days off at the beach are the best. I had my first go at swimming in the sea on Tuesday after learning in the pool and wow, was not ready for the waves. Got completely flattened by two consecutive ones in front of a beach full of people. And god damn it was cold.

Almost off work...

So sick of retail customers today.

Feeling your pain. Some of the questions I got today made me want to cry. "This says '3 for 2'... so that means... I get three of these for £2, right?"

No. No it does not.

Nursing some seriously achey muscles and scraped up, bruised legs because we had family visiting and my 9-year old cousin tried to teach me how to do cartwheels. It, uh, didn't go well. I'm just too ungainly and uncoordinated.

I did manage to do a bridge, though, which I was pretty proud of.

I've got a meeting this afternoon and... if enough people turn up, it's probably going to be a shouty mess of hurt feelings and people being told how much they've fucked up. If not enough people turn up, it's just gonna be depressing.

I got a CAT scan today. Never had one before, it was trippy.

I had an episode of Sleep Paralysis this morning so... not good. My brain's been fried the whole day, I've been seeing things out of the corner of my eye the entire day too and I know sleeping tonight is going to be a struggle.

But I'm gonna put on a movie and hope the low noise will distract my brain enough to let me rest.

Ugh, fuck SP. Worse night ever was me having three episodes in the same fucking night. I was like an almost literal zombie the next day. D:

Oh god, I'm D: over the idea of getting that more than once in one night because just the once I get is bad enough.

Okay.

Things have relaxed a bit at work and on the home-buying front. Work is not as hectic as it was up through yesterday evening (when we had a deadline) and I'm making headway on everything else. Still not sure if things will work out with the house, but right now the ball is starting to move back to the seller's court, I've done everything I need to do in the immediate future, all pending appointments are set up, and I'm getting a better handle on things.

I made it a surprisingly long time into my visit home without being yelled at about how women ruin men's lives with false rape accusations totally unprompted (3 hours), am now contemplating playing the Sims.

The good:
1. wrote an awesome brief at work and got compliments from my boss.
2. Went out to dinner with a family friend
3. Went to nice local classical concert that was part of a series.

The bad:
1. Developed migraine about a third of the way through the concert.
