Seriously, how the hell do people feel more for him than Gamora? I do think he loved her, but in a way that should just be interpreted as "abusers and killers can love people and still be terrible and it doesn't have to make them sympathetic because there's nothing inherently virtuous about loving anyone."

Yeah his love for her is... screwed up to say the least. Which is compelling to me to an extent, but not to the point where I feel like he's the one that got the raw end of the deal in this situation.
