I was talking about an extreme reaction in regards to the original post. I am not talking about other people who use exaggerated language in other situations. Clearly, OP did not take "that's garbage" simply to mean "I don't like things like that" if she was put off by the reaction. Could OP's friend have meant it that way? It's possible, but there's no need to imply that I've never heard of anyone else in the world using exaggerated language.
