Seriously.

I saw someone seriously ask if this meant that actors should be restricted to playing their own race and gender, as though that's a bad thing. (They also included 'sexuality' in there, but that's something that is just acting...)

Right? I just cannot deal with these people who are all pissy about the idea of transgender actors...playing transgender roles.

As a person of mixed race, if I were told my acting roles were restricted to those of my genetic makeup, that would be a very, very small list.

The problem, then, isn't that you should act your own race, but that Hollywood only wants white people.
