Not having seen the film or much of any the kerfuffle, I can say sincerely that that's a perfectly rational reason not to like any movie. I personally prefer ensemble casts to have personal interactions (like GotG versus Jurrasic World, e.g. The second one I hardly remember seeing.)

I don’t think that’s any worse than people who say, “they’re the same age as my kid!” As long as you know the actual kids are most important, everyone relates things to their own perspective somehow.
