Hmm. I can’t think of many het “incest” ships that are actually biological incest. (I think one was popular in Wizards of Waverly Place fandom?) But I’m certainly supportive of het ships where the guy and the girl actually seem like they have something in common.

But also, most of them grew up together and a lot are close in age (sometimes the exact same age since they are twins).

the biggest defense is see of incest ships is when they didn't grow up together, but. okay.

I like it, too, but I hear there is psychological barriers that make people who grew up in a same household together not sexually attracted to one another. It's called the Westermarck effect, and it was discovered partly because people in kibbutz just don't get together with people in the same kibbutz.
