I’m wondering whether I stand a snowball’s chance in hell of getting into the Amazon shows/Good Omens panelat 3:30pm tomorrow if I’m in line by 6:00am, since that’s the earliest I can make it by public transit, if I should take a Lyft earlier than that, or if I should give up and go see a bunch of smaller stuff instead. Makes me wish Tennant wasn’t in it, since he may attract fans who otherwise wouldn’t care. I’d actually forgotten he was in it until yesterday.

AYRT—hey, if it were in Hall H I would’ve had to wait all day today in line for a wristband for tomorrow instead of lounging on the couch and sewing a costume at home. SDCC is my local con and I miss those halcyon days of yore when it was only, say, 90-100k people and it was possible to get into Hall H by lining up at 8:00am the day of. I get to go to SDCC; I feel bad for grousing.

AYRT—I mainly go because I live in San Diego; I would definitely not travel more than an hour or so to come, and the first time I ran into an Australian there (not an expat Australian, they came just for the con) I was totally boggled. Even ten years ago, it wasn’t as bad; fifteen years ago you could buy tickets at the door. My uncle went when it was 40 people in a hotel conference room.

Man, a friend and I were talking about this con and we (we're both Canadian) agreed that you couldn't pay us to go to this con. Dear god, the crowds. No thank you!

I'm glad people have so much fun though, I really am. Just... no thanks.
