104. No offense, OP, but you made me die a little by misspelling Howl's name. His name is IN THE TITLE, FOR FUCK'S SAKE. /explosion.

129. My pet peeve is "thinky," as in "thinky thoughts." You could write a PhD-level literary analysis, but if "thinky thoughts" is anywhere near your post, I'll want to punch you in the face for sounding like an idiot. That phrase just makes me want to unleash violence.

In the book, it's implied that Howell is his real name, and he started spelling it Howl because it seemed more "wizardly"...at least, from what I can remember. So both are correct.

Howl's birth name was Howell Jenkins, so I think it's less of a mistake, and more of a choice to think of him as "Howell" rather than "Howl."

(I resisted using a "thinky thoughts" icon, because I'm really not trying to be obnoxious.)
