Star Wars

(Anonymous) 2018-07-20 10:58 pm (UTC)(link)
!!!!
There's going to be a new Padme book, a new Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon book, an anthology centered on Vader's Castle, and new Prequel comics (which will then transition to Rebellion and Resistance stuff later on).

I'm super excited.

WAIT WHAT IS THIS NEW PADME BOOK?

You're not confusing her section in the new Thrawn book, right?

No, it's a new young adult novel by Claudia Gray (called Queen of Shadows) and it focuses on Padme's transition from being queen to being a senator.

SA
Actually, it's by EK Johnston and it's called Queen's Shadow. The rest is right.

For some reason news about cartoons has been very patchy...the only thing I saw was that Star is coming back in 2019, some photos of the upcoming books, and a clip.

Buffy Reboot 'In The Works'

Joss is working on a Buffy reboot with a black Buffy apparently. This isn't strictly SDCC news but w/e.

I have problems with this.

1. Buffy has been done. Done again. Then done some more. The universe is huge FFS get a new main character.
2. Is giving the role you wrote for a white woman to a black woman progressive? Is it? Or does it just prove you don't write fully realized roles for black women?
3. Joss I ain't giving you a pat on the back for this shit. The only thing whiter than you was your original Buffy series.

Not really news but I got into the Good Omens panel I was aiming for—rerouting autograph and exclusive merch seekers to online raffles made the lines to get into the convention and even Hall H seem manageable again. I hope tomorrow is similarly (for Comic Con) low key. I actually was in the first hundred or so people in Ballroom 20 and I felt bad because I was basically just using up a seat until 3:30 when the panel I wanted to see started. Some of the earlier stuff was fun or interesting even though I don’t follow the shows.
