About why Tony Stark is not the only MCU character with PTSD. More mindbogglingly, someone said that it makes sense because Tony Stark would have less access to therapy than SHIELD agents. Oddly, this is on Reddit.

Excessive and misplaced sympathy for rich white guys seems very much on point for Reddit.

I've seen the same arguments on Tumblr but it is hard discussing anything on Tumblr.

...It would be easier to list the characters who don't probably have PTSD.

All of them have it. The only one who MIGHT have a healthy view of therapy might be Clint. On account of having a normal home life.

Oh god I just... I just can't take anyone who thinks that he's the sole character that's suffered the most seriously.

They all have their baggage and issues, like this isn't even a debate, so many of them have lost so, so much and most of them don't even have access to any kind of healthcare for it.

Like listing the ones that are okay would be easier.

my favorite reply to me saying that it is ridiculous to think Tony doesn't have access to therapist, "Not access in the sense of is able to see one but more in the sense that SHIELD has already done all the work in finding professionals who are trained and skilled in this subject combined with policy in place to allow for people to get/be made to get help. Tony has money but not a support network that has been built for years."

I guess Pepper, Rhodey, and Happy are nothing.

hah! You took the words out of my mouth. This was my reply, "You....you actually think that is all those people are to Tony? Have you not see any of the Iron Man movies?"

They watched the first 30 mins of Iron Man 1 where he's still being a massive dick and stopped watching because that's the only explanation. Like I'm not even a Tony stan on any level but his movies over the years have firmly showcased how much his chosen family means to him.

Say that were true, it's not, but say it was, how does he have less access than Bruce or Thor? How does he have less access than Pepper? Or Scarlet Witch or Vision? How about Peter Parker? What about Bucky (before T'Challa and Wakanda tech intervened)? And what about when a bunch that used to work for SHIELD became fugitives? I have no idea about the Guardians, so I'm just not going to bother with that, but I'm guessing Nebula didn't have any time for therapy in between horrific torture, her sister dying, and a bunch of others getting dusted.

Even among the male characters, I think Tony is the only one who has consistent access to both a BFF and a SO. And they’re always totally cool with him getting them almost killed/maimed for life!
