Man or woman. If you are trans, you are a trans man or trans woman.

But that's positing "man" and "woman" as a default of sorts and "trans" as something separate from those basic units. Cis, on the other hand, works as a modifier the same way trans does, which keeps one from feeling more like a default than the other, you dig?

Trans is not a default though, it is a very small part of the population. I trans man/woman can never be the same as a β€œcis” man/woman.
