I mean, yeah, she's not "in the way" so it's not erasure in the traditional woman-gets-in-the-way of slash pairing, but it's iffy (for me personally at least) to get rid of the single remaining canonical family member when there's no particular reason to besides "oh she's less interesting". Are there fics where Peter has both a loving aunt and two (or more) superdads? Why is it so either-or?

AYRT - I think your interpretation is unfair in its assumptions as you don't know why all writers leave her out. Even if you are correct, writers are allowed to focus on the characters and scenarios they find interesting. Putting aside the specifics, your comment reads like every single "why don't people write the fics/characters I want them to?!" comment in every fandom. The answer is pretty simple, IMO. Because they want to and can. Yeah, with the specifics, it might seem iffy, but there's also a risk of reading too much into it.
