Oh, my gosh, that story about Clarkston. That's fantastic. What a lovely article.

Really happy to hear that about more young people registering to vote, too. If we get a great turnout among them in November, then that gives me some much needed hope. Go forth and make your voices heard, guys :D!

My part of the world is less antisemitic and islamophobic than it was five years ago, and for all the wailing about antisemitism among muslims, it turns out that it's limited to the percentage that believes in dumb conspiracy theories; when it gets to interactions and opinions on jewish people IRL, they score the same as the population on average. Also, jewish people were way less islamophobic than the rest of the population.

My gums are super healthy according to the dentist. And my teeth have not gotten any worse since I last went to see them FOUR years ago. Still gotta get fillings but at least my insurance is paying for most of it.

The amendment I asked for on the house I'm trying to buy, asking the sellers to make a repair, was accepted by the sellers, so I guess things are moving forward (eek!)

Not "news" so much, just nice heartwarmy feelings I guess. I had family visiting who I hadn't seen for years and I was super nervous because I hadn't seen my two cousins since they were little. They were both really attached to me as kids and always got so excited when they knew I was visiting, and I guess I was worried that now they've grown up they might not like me anymore or even remember me.

But they were both so happy to see me even though they've grown up a lot and we had so much fun together and, idk, I was just so relieved that they hadn't 'outgrown' me I guess?
