You are not alone!

I was bored with it before it was even released.

It's a shame about Gunn. Except for Shazam!, I guess we're going to get more choices between mock grimdark and edgy from Warner and even dumber than Ed Wood from Marvel.

Wonder Woman wasn't grimdark and edgy! Which is a neat feat for a movie set in WWI.

Nothing wrong with this. Your opinion is your opinion.

You're not alone, and you're also allowed to have an opinion!

I wasn't bored, but...

I didn't much like it. I acknowledge that that had a lot to do with the end. But I also had other problems with it. I liked the way they put characters together in groups and there interactions, but they didn't seem to spend enough time with any of them, though it was a huge cast. And it never felt completely cohesive, I mean, I think that it was supposed to show how fragmented the Avengers are, but it seemed like each group was in their own little movies. I don't think it would have taken much, just a little more dialogue about each other. It was better than Age of Ultron, not that that's hard. I was disappointed and really surprised at how much other people liked it. I'd give it a C-.

I went in with low expectations - that many characters are hard to juggle - and was pleasantly surprised.

You do you, OP :-)

(Anonymous) 2018-07-26 02:26 am (UTC)(link)
I feel the same, OP! I also thought I was the only person who thought it was just meh. I had a bad feeling from the beginning when they slaughtered the Asgardians then killed Loki in the stupidest way that made no sense for the character!

(Anonymous) 2018-07-26 02:29 am (UTC)(link)
Same OP as above. The fight scenes went on too long, the humour was misplaced most of rhe time, Thanos was fine not the most amazing villain ever and his followers were boring.

I feel this way about Ragnarok.

Yeah, the first ten minutes put me in a really bad mood and I just couldn't enjoy it. :\

(Anonymous) 2018-07-26 03:57 am (UTC)(link)
It was marginally better than I thought it was going to be, but still not a good movie.

(Anonymous) 2018-07-26 04:44 am (UTC)(link)
I thought it was fun, but I'm not very invested in any of the characters, so I felt like I wasn't enjoying it on the same level as a lot of people. I think it helps if you love the characters because, yeah, it had a plot, but that's not why anyone went to see it, you know?

(Anonymous) 2018-07-26 04:05 pm (UTC)(link)
Frankly speaking, I love the characters (well, most of them) and that’s not the kind of adventure I wanted to see them in.

(Anonymous) 2018-07-26 05:16 am (UTC)(link)
The whole thing just really annoyed me. It made me feel like all the trials and struggles and growth and pain of all the previous movies was for nothing.
I mean, I also just disliked it as a movie on more general terms, but mainly it made me feel like my time had been wasted because all these characters I loved died pointlessly at the hands of a very boring, very stupid villain.

they're all coming back to life in the next movie

Only the dusted people and probably Gamora imo. Because even though it's a thing based on freakin comic books and there's no tension about the dusted (especially as sequels keep getting announced), some fans keep whining about the stakes (ie death) so those of us who liked the Thor films are going to get sacrificed at that particular altar on top of the Warriors Three being brutally killed in the blink of an eye in Ragnarok. It does feel like nobody among the writers cares about doing anything good with Thor's supporting cast, they barely cared about Thor until recently.

I'm not completely with th secret OP, I quite liked the film overall...but going from Ragnarok to that was hard. Also for one moment I though they had the balls to do something TRULY bold when Stark got stabbed but obviously the original Avengers had to survive. I'm even doubting if any of the major characters will actually die in the sequel.

It was ok, very well done for something which it apparently had to be (a semi-coherent narrative about big bad and tons and tons of characters teaming up to face him). I didn't care for Thanos (he wasn't bad, I was just not interested in his "philosophy" and emotions) and I really could live without the entire Thanos and infinity stones storyline, because I like my superhero movies to be a tad smaller and lighter - I'm apparently in the minority, so there's that.

(Anonymous) 2018-07-26 05:07 pm (UTC)(link)
You just have bad taste, that's all

(Anonymous) 2018-07-27 03:23 am (UTC)(link)
I rolled my eyes really hard when one of my friends burst into tears at the end of the movie. Like, he was full on gross sobbing over T'challa and shit. And I was like 'uh. i guess.'
