I never hardcore shipped it, but his reaction to seeing her after her injuries in OotP definitely made me think there might be something there, because while we've seen him lose his temper before that's the first time we really ever saw his reserve crack out of what seemed to be concern for a specific person.

YES, exactly! I def shipped these two, she was described as having black hair and wearing a green robe in the first book, so I pictured her as being a similar age to Snape and like, she's wearing Slytherin colors...?
