What has "horrified" you recently?

I had someone bring chicken salad for me to try. But they put cheese in it? And instead of using mayo or yogurt they used cream cheese???

Got to go with ICE deporting my client without ever contacting us. That was messed up. Horror was really how I'd describe how I felt when I heard.

That's the thing with my job. When we win, it is amazing. But when we don't, it's horrifying. But helping some people, helping who we can, is worth it.

You can make chicken salad with yogurt? Is it good?

A friend gave me a bunch of bath bombs with flower petals in them and the petals looked really pretty in the tub. I like to close my eyes and listen to music when I'm taking a bath, so I got in and did that and all the flower petals got stuck to my skin. It was a really disconcerting feeling and I couldn't relax at all.

I make chicken salad with Greek yogurt but you could also use plain regular yogurt as well. It's used in place of mayo (or along with it, depending on how much you like mayo), and takes flavors well, you can then mix in whatever you like (I like to use curry powder with diced apple or halved grapes along with Greek yogurt and maybe 2 tablespoons of mayo, celery, and onion; I also make a Sriracha chicken salad that uses plain yogurt and a bit of mayo).

I mean, that goes without saying. It's not like I'm suggesting it's any better to hurt an adult or a non-human. But it takes an extra element of shittiness to deliberately hurt someone small, vulnerable, impressionable, considerably weaker than you, easily exploited and unable to defend themselves. Anyone who does so, especially if they take pleasure in it, is a special kind of moldy taint scum.

A lot of the stories in this book. Atrocities take on a different angle entirely when you get them from witnesses and perpetrators, not journalists.

Same guy used to eat "salads" that were salad dressing in a bowl like soup with some lettuce and carrots in it

These people who go to the tattoo shop a lot, are super-supportive of the queer community here, and just opened a cookie shop and they spelled it COOKIEZ, with a Z.

Just - fucking *no*.

(They also offer a ton of 'lactation' stuff, which, basically - cookies and things with ingredients to help you lactate. Which isn't horrifying, but interesting.)
