Also, he is a jerk and I don't find it surprising at all that he couldn't understand Javert. Javert realized how many wrongs he has done by trying to do the right thing, believing he was doing the right thing...it all fell apart and he had no choice but to kill himself. How's that hard to understand? What a jerk.
