I love LMM, but it's really hard (and tbh kind of funny) to imagine him as Lee Scoresby. It's just such a long way away from my mental image of the character. Honestly, as bad as the first movie was, Sam Elliott was a really perfect match for the character.

Still hopeful about the series overall though.

Agreed. I think the casting for the first movie was overall pretty great, and the film's main problems were the writing and the ridiculously twee attempts to make it more kid-friendly.

The only one that seems right is Ruth Wilson. And I'm a McAvoy fan.
